Processing electric-are furnace dust by the waelz process

In the light of the situation that galvanized scrap is processed increasingly, larger amounts of EAF flue dust with higher zinc contents will accumulate in future. In view of their heavy metal con-centrations and water solubility these dusts are classified as hazardous. B.U.S operates 5 plants based on the safe and reliable Waelz kinln process for treating these dusts to close the loop between the zinc and steel industries and recycle the zinc.
