Development of Kenaf Harvesting and Processing Machine in China

Kenaf is an important fiber plant and a good pulp-making material. The research on kenaf harvesting and processing machine has begun since the 1960's. There has been many machines designed, such as HB-500 decorticator (smashed stalks), 4BM-27, 6BM-3, and 6HZB-150 decorticators (stalks remain intact), HX-380 Kenaf washer, 4GHM-12 harvester, 5TM-500 and 5TM-350 thresher, etc. DK-180 binder was designed in the 1980's, when kenaf pulp-making industry began to develop. HB-500 and HX-380 were applied widely in kenaf areas producing areas and were exported to Japan, India, and Bangladesh for commercial use.
