Orogenic Model of Intra Continental Orogenic Belts $$$$ A Case History of the Longmen Mts., Sichuan

摘要

The Longmen Mts. are a typical example of inner-continental orogenic belt. It's formation and evolution clearly show the whole process of formation of inner-continental orogenic belt. It is the general model of inner-continental orogeny. According to some scholar idea the Longmen Mts. is the foreland thrust belt of the Songpan orogenic belt. It is located in the edge of Yangtze platform. This is only a event in a very special geological period. In a whole, there is a special history of formation and evolution for the Longmen Mts.. It indicates a complex evolutionary processes and within it every process is a development stage of the orogeny.
