Organic Rice Production with Decreased Use of Farm Chemicals and Sustainable Agricultural Development

摘要

Environmental pollution, decrease of rice quality, decline of biodiversity and health problems for animal and human beings are caused in rice production because of unreasonable and over use farm chemicals such as chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. Therefore, cultivation of rice with minimum use of farm chemicals is the need for environmental protection, sustainable agricultural and economic development. The mechanized rice cultivation method with decreased utilization of farm chemicals was analyzed and explored by means of organic materials usage. The mechanized rice cultivation method using recycling-paper cover of paddy field instead of herbicide usage in Japan was introduced. Through experiment of rice cultivation using recycling-paper cover the author finally made suggestions for the research and utilization of rice cultivation with decreased use of farm chemicals.
