Cotton ( Gossypium Junmian-12) cells suspension cultures were induced by oligochitosan at two content levels to assay the elicitor function in host pathogens interaction systems. Degree of polymers of oligochitosans used in this work was 3—7 and the two levels concentration are 75μg. ml~(-1)and 50μg. ml~(-1) , which could monitor the burst of active oxygen species and influence the oxygen metabolism in cotton cells. When treated with different concentrations of oligochitosans, the oxidative burst maximum appeared in 20~ 30 minutes, and the maximum changes of SOD and CAT activities happened in 70~90 minutes. All of the changes are similar in different oligochitosans concentrations besides the 50 μg. ml~(-1) is more significant than 75μg. ml~(-1).
