AN AUTOMATED INSTRUMENT INDEXING AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS SYSTEM

A multi-processor, microcomputer based instrument indexing system that includes computer-assisted instrument test and analysis is described. An integrated system of hardware and software has been developed for electronically transmitting test results from the field instrument location to a host computer. The host computer incorporates instrument spec sheet information, including operational parameters, and test results into a structured data base, to provide comprehensive information search and retrieval capabilities. An existing application of the system in a large petroleum plant expansion is described.
