BASELINE DATA FOR BOILER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS

This paper describes in detail the procedures for obtaining baseline boiler performance for calibrating an industrial boiler diagnostic system. The ASME PTC 4.1 Steam Generator Code, test instrumentation, boiler test operation, data acquisition and performance calculations are covered in depth.rnThe results of a test run on a typical 500,000 lb/hr (226,796 kg/hr) oil fired industrial type steam generator is presented. A comparison is made of the accuracy between the input/output efficiency and the heat losses efficiency method.
