摘要

An infrared analysis method for the continuous monitoring of sodium hydroxide is presented. A typical range is 0-10% sodium hydroxide in an aqueous background. The analyzer used in this method is a single beam, dual wavelength nondispersive infrared analyzer. A liquid transmission sample cell with reference and measure wavelengths in the near infrared region are utilized in this application.rnControl of caustic concentration results in improved efficiency in the operation of a chlorine scrubber. The use of the subject method in a chlorine scrubber application will be discussed.
