The earth is heterogeneous at all scales. Our seismicrnreflection data is the result of waves that have traveled up andrndown through many heterogeneous layers. The data distortionrncaused by this is not corrected by current processingrntechniques and invalidates many of the assumptions we userninterpret it.rnWe have developed a method to image through severelyrndistorting overburden by placing geophones under it.
