DARWIN’S LOST THEORY: THE NEW GROUNDING FOR A SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTION

This paper reports the reconstruction of the long ignored humanistic and systemsrnscientific "second half" for Darwin’s theory of evolution. Pursuing the strikingrncontradictions between what has been attributed to Darwin by his neo-Darwinian andrnsociobiological heirs and what he actually said, in the long unpublished private notebooksrnand in neglected parts of The descent of man it uncovers a three-level theory of the moralrnagent that foreshadows the late 20th century rise of the fields of systems science andrnhumanistic psychology. Implications for use of this “new” theory for the grounding of arn21st scientific revolution across all fields are considered.
