摘要

A 45m deep excavation pit with poor construction conditions is presented in this paper. Numerical methods and a monitoring system are used to control the deformation of the pit. Based on measured deformation and m-method, optimum back analysis is used to obtain the engineering properties of soils, which then are applied to predict the deformation of the retaining structure in next phrase excavation. In addition, 3D nonlinear FEM is used to simulate construction process and the deformation of the retaining structure is presented. The results of the two numerical methods match well the measured. The work of this paper provides a theoretical basis and practical reference for the design and construction of similar structures in future.
