The Effect of Drying on the Chemistry and Bacteriology of Shrimp Pond Sediment

Accumulation of reduced sediment during pond aquaculture is of environmental and commercal concern to the shrimp industry. The reduced state results from anaerobic conditions on the pond botton. Upon draining it is distinguished by black colour and sulfide odour.
