摘要

Starting material for the experiments is the sulphide ore from the Archaean volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit at Hongtoushan, Liaoning Province of China. Geology of the deposit is described by Gu et al. (in press, Ore Geology Reviews). The ore, free of intense deformation textures, is composed mainly of pyrite (32%), pyrrhotite (8%), chalcopyrite (9%), sphalerite (7%), quartz (25%) and silicates (14%, amphibole, biotite, garnet, plagioclase, etc.). Atomic absorption analyses of the ore gave metal contents of 4.06 wt% Cu, 2.48 wt% Zn, 0.033 wt% Pb, 0.36 ppm Ag and 94 ppm Ag.
