It is meaningful for discriminating the source of coal mine water-inrush quickly and controlling water disaster validly by grasping the groundwater hydrogeochemical information.The groundwater hydroehemistry,physical characteristics and the flow field were applied by Categorical Principal Component Analysis based on the water quality data and the hydrogeological conditions of the Xieqiao mine.Results showed that the method of Categorical Principal Component Analysis was valid in distinguishing fine difference between water samples in coal mine of Xieqiao; the concentration of Ca2+,Mg2+,(K + Na) +,HCO3-,SO42-in sandstone aquifers emerges regular change vertically;,the water types change gradually from HCO3 + Cl-Na + K to Cl-Na + K.This study will provide a basis for discriminating the source of coal mine water-inrush.
