The Yellow River (in Chinese, Huang He) is the mostrnsediment-flled river and the sixth-longest one in thernworld. The Yellow River is of paramount importancernfor safe navigation, local economy and environmentrndue to the presence of roods, farms, aquacultures andrnpollution. Nonetheless, its delta area it is character-rnized by of several physical phenomena due to bothrnnatural and anthropogenic processes: sedimentation,rnerosion, roods, pollution, etc.rnIn this study, actual partially overlapped L-/C-bandrnFP SAR data collected from Radarsat-2 and ALOSrnPalSAR-2, respectively, are used to investigate thernscattering properties of the Yellow River delta, whosernvery challenging area is characterized by diu000berent sce-rnnarios as recorded by ground truth data acquired dur-rning an in-situ campaign. 10 diu000berent classes havernbeen codifed: sea, river, forest, pond, swamp, tide-rnland, sand, saline soil, rural and industrial urban ar-rneas. However, no ground truth data is available inrnsome codifed areas.
