This study aims at describing the outcomes of thernDragon-3 project no. 10689. The undertaken activitiesrndeal with coastal area monitoring and they include searnpollution and coastline extraction. The key remote sensingrntool is the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) that providesrnfine resolution images of the microwave reflectivityrnof the observed scene. However, the interpretationrnof SAR images is not at all straightforward and all thernabove-mentioned coastal area applications cannot be easilyrnaddressed using single-polarization SAR. Hence, thernmain outcome of this project is investigating the capabilityrnof multi-polarization SAR measurements to generaternadded-vale product in the frame of coastal area management.
