This work proposes a technique to solve simultaneously the following two types of gravity transformations: continuation between arbitrary surfaces and conversion to different quantities, by generalizing the algorithm of Xia et al. (1993) which was designed to reduce the gravity field from an undulating surface to a horizontal plane. The generalized technique can convert gravity or vertical gravity gradient, observed on one surface, to the same or a different field or gradient component, on the same or a different surface. Its core is an iterative, wavenumber-domain solution for an equivalent-source distribution. The significant advantage of this technique over a spatial-domain one is its efficiency. A synthetic example is given to test the reliability of the technique. Its practical applications will be presented at the meeting.
