Based on the study of reflection coefficients curves of PP wave and P-SV wave, this paper expatiates the postulate, theory and method of AVO Intercept and Gradient theories for P-SV wave, by normalizing the approximate formula for the reflection coefficient of P-SV. The analysis of AVO Intercept and Gradient for P-SV Wave indicates that P-SV wave has negative AVO gradient and its gradient is dependent merely on the change of the ratio of compressional- and shear-wave velocity, so this relation can be used to acquire the information of the ratio of compressional- and shear-wave velocity. In addition, the AVO intercept of P-SV wave is merely affected by the contrast shear wave velocity when the media has constant ratio of compressional- and shear-wave velocity.
