It is hard to identify minor faults and low amplitude traps according to low quality seismic data in desert area. Using real logging data in the Junggar basin, the geology model of minor faults and low amplitude trap were generated, forward modeling seismic response feature of minor fault throw and low amplitude, outlining seismic acquisition, processing and horizontal variety etc. to investigate the factors effected on the identification of minor faults and low amplitude trap. A new solution for the identification of minor faults and low amplitude trap is proposed based on the experiments result of forward modeling.
