Oil resource is abundance in southern margin of Jungar Basin. But because the constraint of surface and subsurface geological conditions, quality of seismic data is low. Therefore, it is very difficult to establish structure pattern. Meanwhile, it becomes a mainly issue to restrict oil exploration. For the sake of establishing structure pattern in southern margin, we apply fault correlation fold theory to analyze geometry on seismic section for study of structure distortion characteristic. Plenty of structural geological models adapted to practice are rationally and successively built in southern margin area. Drilled wells here verified that the geological models are correct.
