More precise and detailed interpretation along with the integration of the comprehensive seismic methods are applied to the small faults, the low relief structures and the sand identifications in the developing seismic rather than the conventional project. The prediction to the reservoir parameters has been improved from the approximation to the quantitative analysis, to the integration with the seismic data, the drilling data, and the logging curves. The geologic information are more emphasized in today' s study which involved many seismic interpretation techniques such as modeling, coherence, seismic inversion, 3D visualization, seismic attribution extraction, geostatistics etc. Precise structure interpretation is essential before a reservoir prediction in a complicated faulted area at the beginning of the oil field exploration. With precise calibration of the seismic with respect to the log curve and the structure interpretation, a reliable prediction of the reservoir and a reasonable delineation of a petroliferous zone can be determined. Following is a case study of an oil field in eastern China.
