Anstey model has become an important guidance of seismic reflection recognition for geophysical interpreters. But, is the model universally true? The differences between reflection generated by designed and that of standard Anstey model is researched through assigning 44 groups of parameters to 14 geologic models for discussion of the rules and control factors. The researched result shows that Anstey model is not universally true and there are constraint conditions to corresponding seismic response of Anstey model. Two deterministic factors are dominant frequency of the wavelet and acoustic impedance of the interbed. Reflections of a model with a set of transition sections are depended on the mode of transition. The thickness of the interbed, the velocity of enclosing rocks and the way of transition affect the shape and the amplitude of the reflection of transition section.
