Application of wavelet analysis to the data processing of non-seismic prospecting

Base upon the ability of localization features in both time and frequency, wavelet analysis (WA) comes to be an ideal method widely used in the data and the image processing. We have taken attempts to use WA in de-noising MT data, filtering in the gravity or magnetic data, separating induced polarization abnormality and multi-resolution decomposition of the geochemistry data. The results show that WA could be a potential method in the data processiong for the non-seismic prospecting.
