Radiation properties of char particles (50% size: 32-53μm) cloud were determined in the near infrared region, 0.7 to 2.2μm. The following brief results were obtained: 1. Effect of scattering by coal ash particles was negligibly small. 2. The spectra of the extinction efficiency of char particle dispersion are almost flat over the wavelength. 3. Carbon content influenced greatly the extinction efficiency in the wavelength region of 0.7 to 2.2μm, and an empirical correlation was proposed successively by introducing the normalized parameter.
