Different chemical agents were applied to an artificially Cd-, Zn-, and Pb-contaminated soil. The objective was to study the effect of applying different chemical agents on the accumulation of seven elements by rainbow pink (D. chinensis). The result show that the concentrations of Ca, Mg, Fe, Cd, and Pb in the shoots of plants were significantly increased after applying 2Na-EDTA, EDTA, DTPA, and citric acid, respectively (P<0.05). The application of chemical agents had a significant effect on increasing the metal concentration in soil solution and thus increased the metal concentration in the plant shoots. However, the application of different chemical agents had no significant effect on the total accumulated concentration of seven elements (cmol(+)·kg<'-1>) in the plant shoots for most treatments. We propose that the total uptake of elements by rainbow pink is a constant even under the enhancement due to different chemical agents.
