摘要

The need to prevent corrosion, toxicity and to enhance the aesthetic value of steel components in industries and in our daily lives, has led to an enlarged interest in the field of electrodeposition. Steel exhibits a wide range of useful forms and mechanical properties and hence, found applications in almost all industries. This investigation focuses on the corrosion study and surface morphology of electrodeposited zinc with additive on substrate. Hull set electroplating technique was used for laboratory deposition and new analytical studies was engaged to reveal the formation of anomalous co-deposition, surface quality that can resist corrosion attack and mitigate of hydrogen permission on the substrate. Instrument such as focused-ion beam scanning electron microscope (FIB-SEM), Atomic force microscope (AFM) and Potentiostat was used for surface characterization, phase distribution, layer peak visibility and electrochemical analysis to verify stability of the surfaces.
