摘要

The organoclay with additional edge functionalization by means a carefully chosen silane was exfoliated to a much greater extent than the organoclay without silane treatment. This may be attributed to creation of additional hydrogen bonding sites at the edges for the functionalized polypropylene. The other silane treated clay led to a stronger intercalated structure presumably because additional hydrogen bonding sites were created within the galleries.
