Species diversity and its effect on soil properties of Kobresia grassland communities in the plateau area of western Sichuan

摘要

A sampling study on species diversity of different Kobresia grassland communities and their effects on soil properties in the plateau area of western Sichuan showed that significant variations can occur in species diversity indices in three dominant grassland communities from different altitudes and that the efficiency of their contribution to the soil nutrients nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus, and on water retention will be improved by an increase in species diversity.
