Missions in trouble-areas are going to play a major role in the range of operations of the German Navy and leading to a higher workload on the decision-makers. For the support of these decision-makers especially in the time-critical task of secure identification of aircrafts, decision support systems adapted to tasks and situations are needed. A graphical assistance interface with elements for interaction was developed for the job of identification of aircrafts in order to increase the operators situation awareness. A series of tests including the work on a realistic scenario were used for the evaluation of the decision support system, graphical assistance interface and operating procedures which led to an opimized interface.
