When the spinal cord is impaired, the nerve-regeneration is very difficult. The axon hardly ever passes through the cicatrical tissue at the damaged location, even through the axon grew out with a certain size. The essential cause is disrupting of micro-environment for the nerve axon growth. There has been a good deal of research reports on the CNS regeneration in the past. Among them, the studies on spinal cord repairing by using nerve guidance conduit (NGC) are specially interested. In this paper, we report on a bioactive carrier (BAC) system which can act on controlled delivery in order to improve the nerve regeneration environment.
