Human's psychal and social activities are accompanied by different variations of brain potentials. External magnetic field, by coupling means, can modulate brain functions through inducing brain potentials' variations. Based on the variation rule of the brain potential during the whole sleep course, coupling strengthened carrier wave magnetic field into the brain, it can induce and assimilate brain potentials to vary according to the sleep rhythm and improve sleep conditions. Theoretical studies have indicated that nerve is sensitive not to the fundamental, but to the modulation frequency of carrier wave magnetic field. So the magnetic stimulation's input power can decrease greatly, and the stimulation depth increases. Animal and clinical experiments show that the effect of carrier wave magnetic field is better than that of pulse magnetic field. It can not only induce sleep, but also improve sleep quality and prolong sleep duration.
