In this research, recombinant mycobacteriophage phAE88 and bioluminesce sensor were used to detected drug susceptibility of TB. Phage88 can replicate in related mycobacterium (but failed to lysis at 37℃) and express luciferase during their replication in viable mycobacteria. Therefore, it is possible to quantitate mycobacterium activity by means of the intensity of luciferase activity. During drug susceptibility tests, those drug-resistant strains could survive in the medium contained anti-tuberculosis regents, so the light production by the infection and replication of phAE88 is not greatly affected, while those sensitive strains could not survive did not have light production.
