Based on the laser-scanning inspecting principle and the optoelectronic sensor technology, a float glass thickness laser-scanning on-line inspecting system is presented. In this system, a semiconductor collimation laser is adopted as the light source, the light with a definite angle is irradiated on a float glass, two parallel beams with the same reflecting angle are appeared from the up and down surface of the float glass, the non-contact measurement of the float glass-thickness is solved. In this paper, the working principle, the overall structure and the real-time signal processing system are discussed in detail. The measuring accuracy of the system has been verified by experiments, the result shows its accuracy is +- 0.01mm.
