Users of microwave ovens request to defrost frozen foods in a short time. By conventional defrosting sequence, on-off control at constant interval, it was difficult to reduce the defrost time. Because the results are very often part-cooked food with frozen pieces when the mean of microwave energy is bigger. We developed new sequence, called Chaos controlled defrost, to reduce the defrost time. Chaos controlled defrost controls pulses of microwave energy according to chaos time series. By Chaos controlled defrost, on-off control at irregular interval, it can supply the bigger microwave energy. Finally the defrost time saving is up to 40% without compromising defrosting performance. This microwave oven, which incorporates this function Chaos controlled defrost, was introduced to the Japanese market in 1997. Now it is already on the market in all over the world.
