Asphalt mortar ductility is introduced initially in this research. FJB, the ratio of mineral dust to asphalt, is the main factor influencing asphalt mortar ductility through testing mortar ductility of two types of asphalt in cold area and four types of FJB at four temperatures. There are good relationships among mortar ductility, temperature and FJB. Low-temperature bend tests (0℃, -10℃, -20℃)are carried out to evaluate fully low-temperature performances of five different gradations asphalt mixture. And a new parameter, low temperature bend coefficient Su, is introduced. In this research, strain energy density dw/dv and Su are used together to evaluate asphalt mixture's low temperature performances, which can both reflect low-temperature performance and determine the destructive types by Su. So mixture's capacity to endure low temperature can be estimated exactly.
