To seek the technique method for mining the thick seam in high gas and outburst mine safely and effectively, experimental researched the laws of gas emission coal roadways such as protective seam, protected seam and beforehand drainage seam while excavating in the thick seam at the same area in high gas and outburst mine, and analyzed the causation. The research showed that; the pre-drainage could reduce the gas quantity effectively, and it prevented gas outburst safely, economically, feasibly and effectively. And it is more economical and effective than mining the protective seam. Especially for the thick seams in high gas and outburst mine, the economical and societal benefit is more obvious.
