Based on the loading characteristic of the roadway surrounding rock, the mechanics model of the rectangle roadway under condition of stable roadway walls is found Using the theory of material mechanics, the paper has answered the location and the magnitude of the maximal shear stress and maximal tense stress in the roadway roof rock beam, which can estimate whether the roadway roof is destroyed.
