To explore supporting structure of high-stress soft rock roadway, the basic principle of Confining Pressure Restored Reinforcement Theory was revealed by means of laboratory experiments, theoretical analysis and field application verification. The essence of this theory is utilizing reasonable support and reinforcement methods to restore the eliminated confining pressure as soon as possible, improve the self-bearing capacity of rock mass and achieve stability of roadway. Implementation technologies of restoring confining pressure were analyzed. Prestressed bolt and protected-surface structure is the key technology to restore confining pressure. According to this theory, the supporting structure of soft-breaking rock roadway in Zhangjiawa iron mine was improved and applied to production. The application of this theory solved problems in highstress soft-breaking rock roadway, such as poor stability, high repair rate and it decreased the repair rate of roadway from 35% to below 5%.
