摘要

Ferrous calcium silicate slag is a new alternative slag with various possible applications in copper smelting and converting as well as in sintering of iron ore. Some of its characteristics and advantages over the classical "fayalite" and calcium ferrite slags related to copper smelting have been previously described. In this work other important characteristics of this slag such as liquids surface, liquid regions, behavior of spinel phase along with the effect of oxygen potential and some minor components are quantified through a thermodynamic model. Special attention was paid to the application of this slag in copper smelting and sintering of iron ore. Various simple easy-to-use new diagrams have been presented which considerably help not only the development of new technologies using this slag but also day-to-day smelting, converting and sitnering practices in order to determine their optimum parameters and increase the efficiency of the process.
