Potential of Directional Antennas in Ad Hoc Networks

We concentrate on an ad hoc network modelrnwith good directional antennas or beamforming capabilities.rnThe transceiver terminals are assumed to sit on integerrnlattice points over a 2-D plane. If infinitely accurate antennarnresolution or complex beamforming is assumed, then evenrnwhen interference is present, the capacity of the ad hocrnnetwork grows proportional to the square of the numberrnof the terminals within the network and moreover, twornhops are sufficient for any end-to-end connections.
