Wireless ad hoc sensor networks (WAHSN) arernformed by randomly spreading sensor nodes over an area.rnWe compare various multiple access methods and propose tornuse FDMA for WAHSN. Because the number of nodes in thernWAHSN is usually large, frequency reuse must be applied,rnkeeping co-channel nodes sufficiently separated geographically tornachieve satisfactory SIR level. The most efficient channel reusernconu0002guration has been determined and the worst-interferencernscenario has been identified. For this channel reuse pattern andrnworst-case scenario, the minimum co-channel separation distancernconsistent with an SIR level constraint is derived. Minimumrnco-channel separation curves given various channel propagationrnparameters are also presented.
