On the Performance Analysis and the Tradeoff Evaluation of the Mobile Agent Based Network Management Approach

In this paper a generic framework that can be used forrnthe evaluation and analysis of the performance and tradeoffs ofrnthe mobile agent (MA) management paradigm, and which can accommodaternboth one-time and periodic management tasks is presentedrnand analyzed. We illustrate how the developed analyticalrnframework can be used to quantitatively evaluate the performancesrnand tradeoffs in different computing paradigms, by comparing thernperformances of the mobile agent based paradigm with the correspondingrnones of the Client-Server (CS) mode under differentrnscenarios. We also discuss how different mobile agent disseminationrnstrategies could affect the performances of the mobile agentrnbased network management approach.
