By analyzing 20 BL variables, we were able to show that clouds play a feedback role in driving entrainment processes above the boundary layer. Variables such as ML 0, which are typically included in "slab"-type BL models (Betts, 1973), showed significantly different means between the cloud categories. Figure 1.
