Study on influence factors and capacity of coal-fired power development in Anhui province

Recently, with China's economic development into a new normal state, slow growth of the power demand and rapid expansion of new energy sources puts coal-fired power at excess risk in the short term. For Anhui Province, a coal-based province, more attention should be paid to the development direction of future coal-fired power. Considering the prospect of coal-fired power development in China and the actual resource conditions in Anhui, this paper argues that coal-fired power development in Anhui Province are mainly influenced by environmental emissions, water resources, coal consumption control. The result shows environmental constraints on the capacity of coal-fired power generation is less significant, and water resource conditions will affect the coal power distribution. The total coal consumption will become the main constraint on coal-fired power size. The installed capacity of local coal-fired power is correspondingly expected to be no greater than 66-74 million kilowatts in the future of Anhui Province. According to Anhui recent power development planning, at the end of 2020 the size of coal-fired power installment capacity will be close to 50 million kilowatts. From the conclusion of study, there will be a certain development space but not large in Anhui. It is suggested to implement the development sequence and distribution of coal-fired power combined with subsequent development of power supply and demand in Anhui province.
