摘要

In this paper Sliding Mode Control (SMC) strategies are proposed for controller design of Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC). The State-Space model of UPFC connected to a Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB) system is considered. Sliding Surface is designed by using regular form approach. Gao's reaching laws are applied to the state-space model of the system considered and the results are compared with each other. It is seen that the Gao's power rate reaching law is giving appropriate results. Simulation results thus obtained and comparison made by application of different strategies; using MATLAB and Simulink are presented.
