CHINA PING SHU AN TAI BAO OPEN-CUT COAL MINE COAL PROCESSING PLANT

China Pingshu An Tai Bao Open-cut Coal Mine coal processing plant, part of Pingshu Coal Industry Company, is located in the city of Shuzhou in Shanxi province. The plant was built and started operation in June, 1987. It is a steam coal preparation plant, designed by McGuire Ltd. of USA. All the equipment was imported from USA, Japan and Germany. The initial design was to process 15,330,000 tonne of raw coal per year. After years of improvement in techniques and the installation of a low grade coal treatment unit (product for the domestic market only) in 1993, the overall capacity increased to the current 18,000,000 tonne per year. Raw coal intake is 5400 tonne per hour, coal processing 3000 tonne per hour, product coal loading 5000 tonne per hour. The main products include three types -clean washed coal, mixed washed coal and plain mixed coal, and more than 9 different products. The clean washed coal is exported to 17 countries and areas in Europe and Asia, making up 1/3 of the total stream coal exported from China. We have earned a good reputation in the international coal market. The clean washed coal for export is normally delivered to the customers by train or ship, the other products are distributed to the domestic power stations by train or train plus ship. The general procedures for coal processing include a two-stage dense medium separation after classification of the raw coal to produce clean washed coal and mixed washed coal. The coal slurry is thickened, filtered and combined with mixed washed coal before sent to the drying unit for thermal dry. The dry product is then stored for later sale in the domestic market. The low grade coal treatment unit processes the high sulphur coal and produces the plain mixed coal for the domestic market.
