Nanoscale twin boundaries were recently reported to be capable of enhancing fracture toughnessof nanostructured metals. In this study, large-scale atomic simulation on fracture processis performed featuring nanostructured metals embedded with nanoscale twin boundaries. Thetoughening mechanisms by nanoscale twin boundaries are identified.
