On the biaxial dynamic fracture of magneto-electro-elastic composites

The dynamic initiating behavior of a rectangular crack with its surroundings are investigatedunder biaxial harmonic P-waves along the crack plane.Using the generalized Almansi's theoremand the Schmidt method,the singular stress,electric displacement and magnetic flux in the vicinityof crack tips and the extended stress intensity factors are rigorously derived in the forms of basicfunctions.To evaluating the initiation of magneto-electro-elastic composites,not only the extendedstress intensity factors,but also the energy release rate and the energy density are computednumerically in high precision.Numerical results reveal that,although the macro-crack problemis located in macro-scale,the potential initiating behavior of macro-crack lies in both macro- andmicro-scales according to the multiple criterions.
