Previous study suggested a structure-activity relationship for small PAH molecules.As a proof-of-concept,this study was undertaken examining differential gene expression profiles of THP-1 cells exposure to a variety of smaller PAHs to test the hypothesis that structurally similar PAHs induce similar gene expression profiles,and cluster closer than other PAHs.
