This paper attempts to develop a synthesized numerical modeling method to address the problem dynamics modeling of laminated plate structures with viscoelastic damping.A finite element model is derived based on the constitutive relationship of the multilayer plates, and the validity of the finite element model is experimentally demonstrated using a clamped-clamped laminated sandwich plate.A mode updating method using response surface model is newly developed to achieve desired prediction accuracy of dynamics characteristics of laminated structures with viscoelastic damping, and the comparison results indicate that the proposed method is feasible and cost-effective.
